I've never had this problem before when I had a network playing shadowbane.

I have a linksys router now and wireless network. The computer I play WOW on still uses a cable connected to the router while the other computer is the wireless one. I've changed to a constant IP, opened all the ports I suppose (or I think I've opened them, I've never had to do this before) and even made sure my network card was up to date (even though it ran WOW fine before) If anyone could walk me through how to get it working, I'd much appreciate it.
My internet/email works fine on both computers and I can even login to WOW. I just cant interact with anything once ingame such as casting spells/etc.

There are some ports that WoW uses. I don't have the link in front of me, but have you opened all of them?

If I did it right, I've opened 3724, 8086, 8087, 9081, 9090, 9097, 9100

There's a whole range of ports in the 9K range that you need to have open. I had the same problem with my firewall and I went to the WoW tech support site. They have a really nifty tech support site with Windows screenshots that steps you through the process of opening up the correct ports, among other things. I don't have the link in front of me, but just go to the WoW site and look under tech support.

Are there any programs that automatically open ports?
I've went all thru Blizzard's site and found the walkthru for opening ports for the downloader but can't get the actual game to work. I have them marked for open and can still play the game if I unplug the router and just connect directly using dsl modem. I'm thinking I have some other settings somewhere wrong.

make sure you don't have an IP conflict on your network, try disabling the wireless, try just connecting one computer to the network, etc. I was having a similar problem with a linksys wireless router, it wasn't really dropping my packets, but it was storing them up for like 5 seconds and sending them all at once, or something. It was enough to continually disconnect me from vent and WoW.

Try putting yourself into the router's DMZ and see if you can establish connectivity.

Port Magic opens them for many games. Not sure if it works for WoW, but it worked for War 3.

Riley if you still can't get it to work after today we can set up a time for me to remotely access and configure your router if you'd like.

thanks,
I can get in the world in WOW but it doesn't transfer data after that apparently or it loses it or something. Port magic is telling me its opening the ports and I check the router page 192.168.1.1 and port magic is opening ports that wow is requesting. Its got to be some kind of setting I don't know about.
