This game is a combination RPG-FPS/RTS. It's set up in a really interesting way. One person(the commander) is playing the game RTS style while the rest of the team is in FPS mode. The commander can't control you but can give commands, build buildings, etc. The RPG aspect comes in the form of leveling up as the match goes on and being able to buy upgrades, equipment, etc. Different skills and classes are unlocked as new buildings are built for your team. The graphics are great, the gameplay is smooth, and it's a lot of fun.

This game is free to download/play. A $10 acct upgrade gets you a couple of extra inventory slots and one or two other features; none of which are game-breaking.

Check it out. It may be some good DF practice.

Downloaded and did some Practice scenarios. The archery is ALOT easier then Mount & Blade. I wonder which game has archery similar to DF. I'm thinking Mount & Blade, but it would be nice if its balance between the two games.

I tried the Practice mode for a bit. It was actually pretty good. I didn't get to jump into any real games tho. Will try that when I have some more time.

And IMO, and as I said in another thread, where Age of Chivalry is forced and clunky; Savage is so not! Melee is smooth and natural. IMO.

Commander is pretty boring actually. after doing it for 2 hours in one game its pretty easy to get bored and stop focusing on your spell support.

I just picked the game up... got about 4 hours of gameplay and have people yelling at me calling me a hacker so I assume I'm doing well but I seem to suck ass on beasts. I mainly uses shapeshifter along with predator which worked well on the beginner servers but on the normal ones I do OK with shapeshifter and get curb stomped on the pred.

Human I play scout/marksman and do very well even in a losing game... just the lame ass beasts. Anyone got some pro-tips? :)

I only play beast, mainly because they are always losing, bat is the way to go at the start. If you dont win before the pred/legion stage its pretty much a loss for the Beast team.

Get your commander to get the Hell Spawn area so you can get hs units. IMO preds suck maybe because their profile is so easy to see even from far away so they get targeted. Where as on humans the lego's...at least from far away don't look much different from the other humans...fucking humans all look alike! Anyway if I'm on beast and we have preds going I go shaman, heal them and toss that wind shield on them if they are approaching the human towers.

I can't stand playing beast because it always seems like it's a tard convention. I typically play conjurer or shaman on beast and marksman on human. Marksman + sprint boost item + maxed str = effin awesome.

Yea been having some commanders lately that got hell shrines up and I kill enough to bring out a Malphas which is a badass, basically kills everything except legos in 1 combo and with a heart of maliken it keeps my health nice and high for a long ass time.

I honestly like preds more than legos but when I'm the only one of the team that can use the thing right it doesn't help much.
