Scin, Infuriare, Konrad and I are all moving this weekend! Not in together (awwwwwwwww shucks!). Packing and moving sucks. Please offer us your most sincere condolences. :D

No you're not. You fit everything you own into one Jeep Cherokee.

If your move gets rough, Mez, just think about Inf, Konrad, and I lifting heavy furniture in the warm California sun with sweat glistening off our tan and tone bodies. That should help keep you in good spirits. :smile_ok:

OMG Scin I feel better already! Not to break the vision or anything, but aren't you guys having like rain, and flooding, and mudslides and stuff? I could think about you guys rolling around in mud with your couch. That would be hawt as well!

Yeah wtf. You guys are supposed to be the ones with all the rain. Keep that to yourself kthx.

But seriously, wtf do I do with all my useless crap? There's so many random things that I haven't used/worn/seen/cared about in several years, but I still feel that throwing some of it away would be a waste.

-donate them to the salvation army or purple heart

-sell them on craigslist or have a garage sale

-drive around and find homeless people that are holding up signs and hand them random stuff

-drive around and throw it at kids on bicycles in hopes that they will fall

Cinn's first three ideas are good, but the fourth could win you a bundle on America's Funniest Home Videos.

Seriously, good luck to all of you. Moving sucks.

A friend of mine was getting rid of an old TV. It still worked but he didn't want it anymore. He put it out in front of his house (in Queens, ya know NYC). But no one would take it. So he put a sign on it, "please take". Still no one took it. So he put a sign on it, "for sale". Sure enough someone took it.

So put your crap outside wth a big for sale sign. Maybe someone will take it.

Well anything that was worthy of being stolen was already taken a month and a half ago :(

They probably thought the "please take it" was a cop move or something. ARN DO YOU SET TRAPS FOR ROBBERS?

where I live we can leave anything out for the garbage men to pick up, like furiture and ovens and stuff

Anytime I throw out some old junk someone takes it before the garbage men have a chance.

But is stealing someone's garbage a crime? I'm sure it is but damn that would be a mean, cheap, and lame sting operation.

In vancouver they do... My parents were both cops and they got these medicore cars like honda civics and chrysler minivans and such and parked them in high theft parking places. And then when people stole them about 2 minutes into their little "joy ride" they had a police officer start talking to them in the car at a red light. It was video cause my dad showed me a video of it once. It was seriously like this:

Cop(on audio) - Hi, how are you doing today?
Robber - (looks around)
Cop(on audio) - Enjoying the car?
Robber - the hell?
(Cop knocks on the window)
Robber - shit!

They get like 15 people a day right near where I used to go to school. It's hilarious!

Hmmm well I actually haven't replaced mine yet. Why would you sell yours? What's wrong with it?

GuilT

Nothing is wrong, its one of the older ones, third gen i think? The only reason i wanna sell it is cause i recently bought a 4 gig mini (fits what i need it for better) and dont have any use for the 20 gig anymore.

And ya i heard about those cars in vancouver, cameras mounted in the dash boards and cops have the ability to shut the car down so the thief cant drive it anymore. Hilarity ensues.

MOVING SUCKS ASS!

That's all I have to say.

Tell me about it. I've moved 7 times in the last 10 years. States-Korea-Texas-Texas new house-Georgia-Kansas-Germany-Germany new house.

Gonna move again in the next 6 months.

Scintelle
01-29-2005, 02:11 AM
I had 12 moves in 5 years during school and the immediate preceding and following era's. Not exactly the same as moving from the States to Korea and back again, etc... and uhhh all my stuff fit into my little car for all but the last couple moves.

But now, oh snap I have so much freaking crap... not good times. Fortunately we're only moving about 15 minutes to the west of where we live now... but we were talking about how it's still totally different... we'll have to go to different movie theaters, malls, restaurants, and so forth. It feels like the end of an era.

GuilT

Different malls and shit? WTF are you nuts?

Cinnabar
01-29-2005, 12:23 PM
I have about four different malls within relatively equal driving distance from my place. I don't know which to choose. :(

Yes moving DOES suck. I moved in to my new place to discover that the friggin place isn't even done. The manager dude TOLD me it was. ARRRGH!

01-31-2005, 07:43 PM

Scintelle

There is no new Claim Jumper! Now I have to drive like 20 minutes to my old one :(

Mez

Nooooo I saw the place once when I first told him that I would take it; that was three weeks before I was to move in, and he said all these things were being fixed....I met up with him on Friday afternoon to get the keys for the Saturday morning move. I did not see the place until I was moving in because of the timing deal (he said I could have the keys Tuesday, but didn't get around to returning my calls until Friday morning).

Anyhoo...on Friday afternoon he told me that we can do the walkthrough a couple of days after I get settled in (which is weird), so I haven't even done one yet!!!! CAN YOU SAY SLUMLORD? LOL

SCIN...Baja Fresh? DO YOU HAVE A NEW BAJA FRESH?!?!?!?
