Turn on the TV before you miss the "next black QB to win the superbowl (http://nfl.fanhouse.com/2009/08/05/vince-young-i-will-be-the-next-black-quarterback-to-win-the-su/)"

This guy is terrible.

That last championship win (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8zZRBTOcnY) he had with UT was a good game.

If I was Tennessee, I'd be kicking the tires on Mike Vick. If hes still got a good portion of the wheels he once had him and CJ in the same backfield will be dangerous. Plus worst case scenario he throws as good as Young.

As I say that he goes 6 for 6 but some of those catches are made purely by the receiver really stretching for it

Vick lands on the Eagles!

Wait, Vick is back in the NFL? Makes sense, I guess. Its been a couple years.

Man I gotta start paying attention to football again.

And yeah, Vince Young sucks. My last fantasy pool taught me that one. ;)

You know its not a bad idea for the eagles.

Fact is Vick isnt going to start for them unless McNabb goes down and then their current backups are all solid (Kolb and Feeley) so Vick would just be focusing on getting back into playoff shape well into christmas.

The sneaky this is they have an option for the second year. Meaning for nothing they picked up a guy that they shouldnt need this year (unless catastrophe strikes), who if he bombs they have no obligation to next year and they can pick up the option on if they want to keep or trade him.

In short, for just the cost of a roster spot they have a potentially valuable player available for trade next year.

PS: Maclin looked hawt as a kick returner last night

They should use Vick as a running back.

There is no way they pick up his option next season. They already owe McNabb like $10mil next year with $6mil as a roster bonus. No sane GM would drop $16mil on an old QB and an out of shape QB.

Also, even though he is getting $100,000 a game this year (1yr for $1.6mil) he can't play or practice with the team in the first 6 games.

If they dont use a roster spot for him, they get a special roster exemption until his suspension is up and he can only attend meetings and learn the playbook.

They should use Vick as a running back. They already have 3 NFL RB's and a young Buckley guy that looked good last night. Vick would get broken in half if he played RB as his main position. Theres a difference between scrambling for a gain and being a running back

Vick might make an interesting punt return guy if they are looking just to put him on the field for some publicity.

Shokar

RB is out of the question. Once he gets his football legs back, Vick will earn his money on trick plays. Line him up in the slot and do end-arounds where he has the option to run or throw. Stuff like that will give defenses nightmares.

Bengels need to get lard ass Andre Smith under contract. If they got a right tackle worth a shit the bengals might be a little more intimidating.

Jason David of the Saints is still sucking wind again this year though. New Orleans is going to give up the passing yards to #1 WR's again this year. Roddy White and Steve Smith get 2 games against him this year

Wow Shockey is really looking good on this last drive. 3 catches for 61 yards including a leaping WR like TD catch.

If he keeps this up I might have to try the Shockey poison once again.

Orton to Eddie Royal is looking pimp so far. Eddie Royal seems to just run routes right into open spaces. Reminding me of a younger Marvin Harrison

I think guys taking Moreno in the 4th round of drafts are going to be disappointed. Not because the guy isnt talented, but because hes going to lose a fair bit of work to other RB's

If SF gives up sacks this easy all year, play and DST they play that week.

Orton has 3 picks now. Hes either slicing and dicing or hes throwing picks. Wonder how that will progress during preseason

Shockey bad! Inconsistent like a coked out supermodel.

TE is such a damn toss up every year. Finding a team with both a talented TE and then the gameplan to consistently go to the TE is almost like winning the lottery.

Chris Baker, NE, will find some Brady love this year.

Mutt

Vernon Davis got some love last night as well.

I think the TE will have to be showcased through all preseason games to say a team has a commitment to them.

NO was missing Lance Moore last night so perhaps thats why Shockey got in on the action more.

Chris Baker still has Ben Watson to contend with (out due to injury) so Id wait on that one. Plus no TE in NE has done better than like 350 yards and 4 TD's the last couple years.

I want to see how ATL uses gonzo tonight. They only passed 19 times to all their TE's last year.

I know its the lions, but damn Turner is a beast. Hits like Barber and runs like MJD

Soushia

Your TE sleeper is Keller (NYJ). They only have one decent receiver on the team and he runs in the 4.4 range.

And don't use Baker...trust me! We Jets fans call him "Chris Baker the mistake maker". He is very pedestrian and only seems to score when you are deep in enemy territory. The way Brady likes to bomb in out to Moss and the Way Billechek likes to pound it on the ground in close, he won't be scoring many points.

Mutt
08-15-2009, 04:59 PM
Yea Soush, Keller is a good TE you can get later like the 10th TE taken.

Didn't Baker have a really great year two seasons ago and then totally disappear last year? Maybe I'm thinking of someone else.

Baker had a solid year when Pennington was the QB because he is the master of the soft 8 yard throw and Baker can only run 8 yards and catch soft passes.

On NE you will mostly just see him in 2 TE sets opposite Watson, who will release more often while Baker sits back and blocks the weakside blitzer.

Watson has disappointed me many times with his injuries. When Ben is hurt, I expect Baker to get alot of those looks along with the departed Vrabel's TDs.
