Avatar help, pls

Why come every time I try to change my avatar to something that is linked to a different site, I get this error:

Error - cannot find an image at the specified URL. Please make sure that you have entered a valid URL.


I know the picture is there and I know the URL is valid~! WHAT GIVES? :banghead:
