I was just curious if anyone was still playing this. I heard they made some improvements and the game is a lot better now.

I've actually been thinking of trying WAR and AoC again. Currently installing the AoC trial. I've heard both games have been greatly improved upon.

We'll see though.

Took me all night to install the trial. I forgot just how big the AoC game client is. Thing is freakin enormous! Then had around a 3g patch as well. I'll be checking it out tonight.

I looked into the WAR trial as well. Seems it's an unlimited trial, but you're stuck in T1 content and some features are turned off. If AoC turns out to still suck, WAR is getting a shot next.

0 healing on your gunner? Way to fail, Vail.

So AoC still doesn't really interest me, but WAR is fun again. Whether it stays that way remains to be seen. T1 is super populated with everyone playing trials.

Whats changed? I am very tempted to give it a shot again.

Besides the bug fixes, performance improvements and stuff like that. So far in T1 they start everyone in the Empire/Chaos areas now instead of their racial lands for population sake. The ORVR area in T1 is always crazy.

It looks like they added a bunch of new dungeons. I think the first one used to be a mid to high 20s dungeon in the city, but now theres a lower one in Nordland.

The classes that were left out at release are in. I'm playing a knight of the burning sun right now. Like the class, it's basically Orders version of the chosen.

They also merged all the servers down to just 4 now. The population seems healthy so far. But I'm about to hit T2 and get away from all the trial accounts, so that'll give me a better look at how it is.

Wow they are down to only 4 servers?! The annoyance for me was when i hit t3 or t4 i dont remember which and the queue times were insane.

T4 queues were a bitch for us when we played and it seemed like it was always that damn map on the beach with the ships. I hated that map and I've forgotten the name of it fortunately.

Serpent's Passage, and yes, I think it composed about 95% of all T4 scenarios ever played.

I've been playing Warhammer. I decided to try Order this time around and it's like playing a new game. It was strange at first entering/exiting the RvR zones from "the other side", I kept heading the wrong way, lol.

They've made some good changes, like the apprenticeship system, the war report and lowering the number of players needed for Scenarios so they pop more often.

The only change I don't like is the elimination of the fortress fights in T4. I think they could've kept the fortress portion and made it easier or less time-consuming. As a result of this change, you see ALOT of city seiges, with both sides city seiging every weekend and a few times during the week. They're still tweaking this system though, the last 2 major patches had changes that were directed at the T4 Campaign.

They also made a major change to Scenarios recently, where they eliminated the less popular scenarios and added the popular scenarios to all Tiers.

You can check out the changes made here: http://herald.warhammeronline.com/patchnotes/index.php?id=2009_1-2-0 Patches 1.3.0 through 1.3.4 are the big ones.

I'm playing Order on Gorefang (lvl 31 Bright Wizard, about to ding into T4) and I tranferred my Destro characters to Badlands. I'm playing casually, less then 10 hours a week and usually in spurts of time, not everyday.

I'm playing Destro on Badlands as well. KotBS was fun, but I dislike elves too much to play order (and wanted to play a shaman, AM just won't do).

I think I'm rank 8 right now. Leveling almost completely through PvP. Joined an all greenskin clan, pretty fun so far. Name is "Wakzorkle"

GASP!! Oh nooooooooeeessss! Nothing says "target me", like a BW.

How are Slayers and Choppas? I have a 21 BW but kinda want to give Slayer a try.

Nadric

Both slayers and choppas are offensive powerhouses. But they take a ton of damage when they rage, and really require healer attention or a tank to put guard on them.

I was thinking of rolling a Choppa (or maybe a Marauder) tonight, because I'm sick of healing people who don't know how to kill! ;) Plus T1 is a ton of fun, so rolling new characters is actually fun :D

Over the weekend I got a KotBS to 11, BW to 7, Shaman to 7, DoK to 7, SH to 6, and WP to 5. Now I'm gonna roll something else. This game gives me serious alt-itis!

I checked this game out again a couple of weeks ago. I personally think that even though it's better than it was at release, it still sucks. I have a level 33 DoK and the T4 queues are still long. I also have a 25 sorc and 23 choppa.

The T1 stuff is very active, and I would recommend people who want to check things out just make a free trial. The problem is just that free trials are now permanent, not just 2 weeks. Meaning that tons of people just make twinks now, so T1 is basically full of twinks.

One thing that seems to have improved is lag when there are lots of players around. The lag is definitely not as bad as it used to be. The engine is still a clunky piece of shit though. Getting stuck on a little twig of a bush, or having to back up to do a running jump over a 1 inch gap in the terrain for example...

It was fun for about a week, and then I just uninstalled it again. It's really just the same game with less lag.

I love playing a BW, they just kick royal butt with the highest DPS in the game. I don't shy away from being in the thick of things either, which means I either die alot or slaughter people. It all depends on whether I have good healing backing me up.

I'm also a master talisman maker (200 skill), so it's easy for me to tweak my stats. Been running high INT and moderate Wounds.

What I like the most about this game, is it's very casual-friendly. I can go weeks without playing and jump right back into the game without missing a beat.

Gah I hate how much this game makes me want to play other characters!

Last night I was slaughtering people left and right on my choppa, but we weren't making much of a push because all of the tanks sucked. So I started playing my BO. Then we started pushing pretty well, but we had to resort to res zerging because the healers were sucking it up...so I played my shaman! Then nobody was dying because the DPS couldn't kill anyone/wouldn't focus on the healers!

Arrggghh! It's an endless cycle! A fun cycle though.
