I have been gradually more and more disappointed by FPS games since I first played Battlefield 1942 (imo one of the greatest FPS games of all time). Call of Duty started out great, but after Call of Duty 2 (CoD3 only for consoles??! gtfo...) I feel the franchise is a joke. The fact that the Battlefield games so obviously started copying the "feel" of CoD was a huge let-down for me as well. And not only did they start copying the movement and controls, but the linear, shitty maps, as well as removing more and more vehicles and making them so that someone 60% retarded could control them spectacularly.
To cut my rant short, I haven't been excited by a FPS game in a long time. And I'm glad that Tripwire, the devs for RO2 "get it". I'm tired of playing console games on my PC.

If only spambots plugged awesome games. :D
Edit: this is a long ass video that shows a lot of what the game's features are. The guy doing the interview is pretty annoying, but it's worth watching if you're curious about the features/mechanics.

Pretty cool looking game, any idea when it's going to release? The video said 2011, but didn't specify a month.
I don't think they have a set release date yet. You can join the official Red Orchestra group on steam for news updates though.
As a person that played the original RO mod for UT2004 then bought the first Red Orchestra I can honestly say I've been waiting for RO 2 for years. Heck I bought Killing Floor just as a show of support for Tripwire because I like them so much. That and the thought of them taking a horror themed mod (KF) from UT2004 to retail while keeping an office on the second floor of a church is something I found hilarious at the time...
And damn... my post sounds like a spambot too... gg fanboy post. =|
