Got my beta acceptance email tonight. Looks like testing starts this friday.

This is HIRez's new game (the global agenda people)? GA was pretty awesome IMO, until rekk (wanna be dev) asshole started fudging my stats. You know me, taking something oddball and proving that it's good.

I'm gonna pass on beta and pre-ordering but I will probably check it out some time in the future. I still need a new pc too.

So they sent out an email saying there's a "preview event" for the closed beta starting at 4pm today.

Tried it out a bit... god it's crazy fun. Anyone that played tribes before should feel right at home things feel pretty similar. Skiing still #1 most important skill heh.

Played a couple matches, not really impressed. WAY too much emphasis on skiing for my taste, much more so than the first two. And I'm really turned off by the way they're handling classes, which need to be bought/unlocked before you can even try them to see if you like them.

It's one thing to have only basic tools available for a class to start, it's quite another to not even be able to play it until you unlock/buy it.

Edit: For example, I went 6:1 in a CTF map, with 2 flag caps. I earned 52 tokens. It costs 15,000 to unlock a class with tokens.

Yea that's gonna suck, I enjoy the skiing while trying to land shots that 2 shot people... good times ^_^

I'd be interested in hearing if anyone from GA is playing, drek. Like Nomad, rekk, caesar-x, kong, etc, or some other of the bigger names from GA. Some of the nice guys too, not only the asshats. In GA half the fun was beating people who talk smack on the forums and over voice.

Got a key as of last night and played with some old friends. More enjoyable than I'd thought, good for instant action I suppose.

I really only talk with the old protocol guys but Cryme, Pharaohx, Suff and them aren't too interested in it.
