I know a few folks play CoH...and CoV is releasing in Nov. In on the beta already. If anyone else is in on the CoV beta, or is just planning on checking either title out, give me a shout.

I played CoH for a few weeks when it was released. I may check it out if the PvP turns out awesome.

I heard the best part about that game is the character creation

It's true. Creating the outfit for your superhero was by far the best part of that game. Played in the beta and the first couple weeks of release, but it just trailed off when no pvp was available (and WoW on the horizon).

CoH had potential.....at the character creation screen.

After that though it was pretty much a repeatable grind. Kill the villians in this house. Find and kill x number of villians in the city, blah blah blah.

It was fun as hell what your powers could do though. If pvp was put in and you could just brawl in the streets the game might be pretty kick ass though if you could get through the grind.

I doubt I'll pick this up without there being some sort of free trial thingy first. I bought CoH and only played it for a week or two.

I played CoH for about 2 months. The powers were very fun but the non pvp made it get stale. I'd check out CoV but I most of my time will be playing on the SB lore server. If after SB gets stale and before DF comes out, I'd be more interested in CoV.

Yeah character creation was fun but I had the most fun just flying around the cities raining fire on mobs. But that can only be fun for so long.

Character creation was certainly the best... I never made it to end game though... I always burned out at like lvl30 it was worse than WoW :(

Have to agree, the grind is wretched without folks to team with regularly. It has been a nice distraction game though, fun to log on now and again with the kid and friends. With no real persistence, it has that "goof around for a bit" feel to it which is fun and a nice change of pace at times.

They seem to have put a lot of thought into the PvP zones, and I'm hoping it turns into a lot of fun once CoV hits.

That kinda caught my eye (bad guys, go figure). IF the toaster is replaced by November, and it should be, I'm in. Going through withdrawal twitches from not being able to play anything.
