Apparently, DnL isn't just a 2-faction PvP system (where you can only kill members of the opposite faction). It seems they're implementing a system similar to Darkfall where you can kill anyone, but become bandits or outlaws as a result.

Now, let’s try to define with more precision the following words: outlaw, neutral, wanted and bandit.

And off we go with the most simple of them all: neutral. Here we are talking about neutral folk, those who have decided to live in the 9 realms without mana nor magic after Gothar’s edict of 8888.

The words outlaw and bandit both designate the same thing: anyone, dark or light, can become an outlaw and lose his alignment. These people become able to kill anyone they want to, whenever they want to, and everywhere except in « safe » zones like Al-Drifa. They have a bad reputation and cannot compete for a political position. Their social progression (SxP) is blocked. An outlaw will be able to regain his alignment through different means, but he will never be able to become Light if he was Dark, and vice versa.

Finally, the wanted are people who have committed numerous crimes, killing other players outside battles. The risk of becoming wanted depends on the level discrepancy between the player and his victims. Wanted people are still Dark or Light but are declared persona non grata (most unwelcome) in certain areas.

Sounds like being a bandit would be fun. :p: Would have to have alts though that make or buy gear for your Bandit character.
