Alot of the senior guys at Blizzard moved along and created their own studio: Red 5 studios
http://www.red5studios.com/index.html

They left WoW as they were not happy with the direction it was going, and have embarked on creating their own MMO.
They just announced they will be using the game engine of Project Offset: http://www.projectoffset.com/

Not many details as to what their MMO is going to be, however they do have some talented designers and are employing interesting technology. Rumour is they wanted to put more of the war into Warcraft, but senior management shot them down to head in a safer route.

WoW as it stands now was the idea any of the original dev team thought up, it sucked to much. Wouldnt be suprised if someone wanted to play it safe which sucks.

I seriously hope these guys can deliver.

Is it a MMO? It looks more like a FPS set in Diablo. I didn't read everything on the site, though.

edit: Nevermind. I guess Project Offset is something different.

The Project Offset game looks pretty sweet. And if this Red 5 company is using that same engine... It's definitely going to be a sight for sore eyes.

I was impressed with the Crowd Test (http://www.projectoffset.com/media/project_offset_crowdtest.wmv).

Thats the one that gets me almost every time. Atleast in this instance its not a requirement. Does it say where they are located? Couldnt find that info.

Im working on my demo this semester. Everything I normally make is just a quick do it to practice or do it for the fun of it and then its discarded. Dont have many things that are so completed that they would be good show pieces.

What I'm more impressed with is the 1.2MB/s download speed that file came in at.

I hope this isnt an indicator of a Lineagesque game: http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=8336

In January of this year they opened up their new development location called "Webzen America" in LA. Vosx is the head of the Webzen America comunity team. Sachant put in an application there and she said that alot of the things they are working on are pretty amazing. I dont think you'll see a Lin style outcome from this, although there might be some influences.

they changed their webpage, nothing but a design artist picture and a login screen. Oh, I thought their 404 error page is good too.
