Anyone else try the Demo?

I thought it was pretty meh for a BF game but i dunno.

My demo download (5 hours) ended up being corrupt. After that I just said fuck it, thats how low my expectations were.

My wife DL'ed it, but couldn't get it to execute the install. Corrupted, I guess, like Maj's.

If it was a .DLL error you need to install a new DirectX thing to get it to work.

Anyway my review of the game

Graphics:
It seems like the same engine as BF (interface and all are mainly the same in feel) so theres no difference between this and BF2 IMO.

Combat:
This is just what made the game so bad for me. Its fairly clunky to begin with as in non responsive. The guns arent very accurate at all even from close range. The reticule also bounces around a LOT so unless you are on the ground shooting you dont stand a flys chance in hell of hitting the broadside of anything.

On the upside the armor is kind of new (the heli things are stupid) but some vehicles are equipped with EMP devices to disable enemy weaponry which makes for a nice defense. The new mode is also pretty cool for close quarters combat, but the ship itself is rather poorly designed.


It also doesnt help that the medic, engi (i think), specops, and anti-tank kits were eliminated so armor is EVERYWHERE. Pretty much they shoved tons of things into unlocks which well... sucks.

Its alright imo. Doesnt have that instant flow that BF2 had, but I think thats partly due to the futuristic type gear employed. The walker is a pretty interesting vehicle but its kind of a pain to hit anything on the move. probably by design that way, because its a killer when locked on to something. I think it has potential but not alot

personally i like the upgrade system... you win unlocks with a certain class then work up the trees to a better weapon...

Is good fun. :smile_ok: The upgrades are nice and not a complete pain in the ass to get. Finally got my Vossy and need to figure out what to work towards next.

The two of us in the battlewalker last night had the entire map captured in what 5 minutes last night?
