Apparently therre are many reports of CD errors on the WoW forums and of course I'm getting errors on disk 4.

Anyone have the 'installer tome4.mpg' file I can download?

I don't want to download the whole client, just the one file I need. It's only 667 megs...

before you all rush to upload it...har har...I think I was able to copy the file from the CD to my HD using Opera explorer instead of windows explorer. Lemme see how the install goes

so now that I'm able to copy the file to my HD, how do I trick the installer to look at my HD? It's 'insert disk 1' or 'cancel'. With no browse option.

Freakin' stupid. If I can't get this shit to work soon, WoW is getting returned and blizzard getting a nasty email. My patience is over.

This may sound dumb.. but have u tried buring the file you copied to your HD to a cd then inserting that when prompted? If you direct copied the CD to HD, Copying from hd to CD should work. Also i talked with some people who had to uninstall the beta client completely from their computer, restart then install and the error went away.

you've probably already tried these but if you havent hope they help :)

There are multiple reports of this issue on the WoW Forums.. Check on one of these threads for details... I think it was something regarding a "selective startup" for Win Xp but can't take more time out of this class to find the exact answer for fear of my instructor getting annoyed.

I don't have a burner and I was never in beta.

I did what they suggested from the forums. All useless.

The copy I made of the file isn't even the same size as the original.

I'm off to return this crap. Maybe when blizzard can assure me of software that actually installs I'll repurchase.

Anyway thanks for helping.

with Rome:Total War i had to copy all three disks into a folder on my desktop and then install from there. didnt ask for any cd's that way... wonder if that would work here?

Well I figured I try to just exchange my copy for a new copy. And it worked. I installed just fine but now I can't login. I'll keep trying though.

I was able to patch and log into some a population server. It was filled with lag.

You guys really picked a good game...

I'm playing on some other server that lists as low population. It was first on the eastern server list. It's nothing but lag, I can't even quit out...just closed it and now I need a reboot...omg.

I was able to play without lag on some other server. Seems ok.
