My wife's best friend has a neighbor that is a Washington State Patrolman. He works the evening shift, getting off work about 4:30 and getting home about 5 am.
So, last Tuesday, Mark is almost home. He turns down the final stretch home and decides to run the plates for the vehicle he just got behind. His house is about a half mile down the way and the vehicle he is following turns right, into Mark's development. He thinks "Hmm, must be a neighbor". So he follows this car through a left, right and finally a last left turn. The car pulls into a driveway. Mark, who still hasn't got the check back on the plates pulls right behind him and turns on his lights.
He goes up to the window to talk to the fellow. "What do you think you are doing?" Mark asks. "Nothing, I was just going home, is that a crime?". he just tells him to sit tight a minute and gets the report back on the vehicle. He has a previous conviction for narcotics violations, has an outstanding warrant for his arrest for failure to appear for a second narcotics issue.
So, Mark saunters up to the door, tells the guy to get out of the car. "I didn't do anything wrong, I was just going home" the unlucky driver pleads. So Mark just brought it down. "Yeah, but you are in my driveway".
He had to call another car to transport this idiot to jail, since he was off duty and allready home. They also found 5 ounces of marijuana in his car. I guess that will be a third charge of narcotics possession.
