Ok, I'm saddling up (YEEHAW) for a 2 week vacation starting this Friday. ^_^ So, what's your favorite movies that I can check out while on vacation?

My boss and I just got finished talking about some of our faves:

Zoolander
Vanilla Sky
Gone With the Wind
Office Space

and a billion others. What's YOUR FAVORITES?

I can agree with you about Dreamcatcher...That was by far one of the worst movies I've ever walked out of. :thumbdown

I thought Dreamcatcher was good also. Its about 4th on my list of steven king books made movies. 1.Shawshank 2. Stand by me 3. The Green Mile 4. Dreamcatcher

My all-time favorite movie:
Bottle Rocket.
If you haven't seen it, please do yourself a favor and rent it!!!!

Other favorites = Fight Club, Beautiful Mind, Gladiator, The Big Lebowski, Rushmore, did I say Fight Club?

Now I'm very though on my ratings, most movies I see only rate around 3-4. but Shaun of the Dead is getting a high 6, which is a very good score for a movie in that genre.

How can you like Vanilla Sky but think Eternal Sunshine is lame? :insane:

I thought it was smart, funny and original. Definately the best movie of the year.

I thought Vanilla Sky was just OK but Eternal Sunshine I have been DYING to see because people that I respect very much in the movie department have told me that its the best and that I will love it. I had wanted to see it for MONTHS in the theatre but my dumb Canadian boyfriend insisted that it was a renter and you don't see movies like that one in the theatre. And that is why I hate him. lol

I almost forgot. Napoleon Dynamite. Definitely super uber wonderfully divine. I saw it in the theatre and I just saw it on DVD tonight and saw the deleted scenes. O M G!

Shaun of the dead is about zombies... kinda like dawn of the dead... but this movie is retarded. Basically zombie outbreak and shaun and his best friend have no clue whats going on... then they figure it out and have to save the day.

Really basic breakdown... but ya its uber!

Not necessarily my favorites but I've seen these movies a gazillon times because I own them:

Bladerunner
The Great Outdoors
Dune
Indiana Jones (all of them)
Lord of the Rings (only own the first movie atm - funny thing is, its my only DvD and everytime I have to set-up my DvD player or fix the connections, I pop this movie in to make sure its working and end up watching the whole thing. :plol: )

Hmm lemme see here.

Bottle Rockets is one of my favs too, but then Wes Anderson is untouchable as long as Owen Wilson is involved somehow. Aquatic is going to kick so much ass come this weekend.

Lost in Translation is my favorite movie of all time. Bill Murray got robbed. Mystic River was so hammy you could make a deli sandwich outta it.

SO....

1. Lost in Translation
2. Almost Famous
3. Arsenic and Old Lace
4. Boondock Saints
5. The Royal Tenenbaums

I have so many other top movies it's hard to narrow it down past that. Dr. Strangelove, Eternal Sunshine was excellent, and Terry Gilliam's Brazil come to mind. Enemy at the Gates is up there too. Joseph Fiennes is the fuckin man.
