Anyway I've said this before but IMO a good approach to "taming" Islamic extremism would be to empower Muslim women. Not sure how to do this but invading their countries and dropping bombs on them doesn't seem like the best way.

I have difficulty relating to the mindset of these people. I cannot imagine putting my niece in a headlock and dragging her to the town square where she would be beaten to death. I like to think that had I been born a Kurd in northern Iraq I would have tried to prevent this. In truth I fear my boot prints would have been on her face. Would I be able to perceive the evil in my culture had I been born to it?
