For me, the only reason why Einstein's opinion about god and religion matter is because sometimes religionists or theists or just people in general like to paint Einstein as some sort of religious person.
That particular article I think was the standard AP one that went around. IMO it's not the best because it's written badly and the guy they quote, Brooke, is sort of a weenie. He's part of a group (the Templeton Foundation) that, as Richard Dawkins puts it, "gives out large sums of money to scientists prepared to say something nice about religion." With that said the Templeton Foundation does some interesting things like give grants to legitimate science, so it's not all bad. I don't think they are completely disingenuous or anything but rather that opinions from people associated with them must be taken with a grain of salt.
Anyway there's a ton of info about Einstein and his writings on religion and god. It's all there for people to read and form their own opinions about.

That's the same reason I feel many of the founding father's views on Christianity matter. Because people in general also like to paint them as Christians when so many of them were downright against Christianity. Not to say they weren't religious, just that they weren't Christians.

sounds hot
Figured Dir would be the one that brought this up when I read it last week. The sound (text) bites use some pretty harsh wording but the sentiments right.
