I wasn't really looking for them to reinvent the wheel. I like the game, so more of the same isn't necessarily a bad thing. More content + revamps is what this xpac will be, and it should keep things interesting for a while.

99% sure I'll be playing Cata, so if you don't need your beta key anymore I will gladly put it to use for you

I'm at the point where I get bored of an expansion so I just roll up a bunch of characters. Onto my 7th 80 when my DK hits 80 (76 atm). But I will definitely be playing in Cata, and am stoked about the pally healing changes. Finally making it seem more fun rather than just spamming HL's.

Is it just me or has WoW has gotten a lot easier in the time since I stopped playing? That seems to be the impression I get?

I remember when Misfits disbanded we had just killed Vashj for the second time (got my T5 hat woo!) and at that time we were one of the first dozen or so guilds worldwide to do it legit. (there was a bug that got exploited regarding the "ball")

I remember that shit being really hard. (which is probably why we disbanded, everybody got stressed/burned the f out)

The game is a lot easier now than when we played last. Still fun, but it's a lot easier to complete all the content with a competent group... Which is kind of a double edged sword.

The game really isn't that much easier. They just have more to offer the casuals than they ever used to. The amount of guilds that have killed Lich King on Heroic is still probably about the same number of guilds that had killed Illidan at this point. You can't really compare Sunwell to Halion as Sunwell was immensely harder and more content, but in terms of the "major" instances, I'd say it's about the same.

The difference now is that there's an inbetween option for casuals now, and they're doing more for it in Cataclysm too. 10 mans are much more fun to me than 25 mainly because there's usually some people that rub me the wrong way in 25, but it's pretty easy to find 10 people you get along with.

Something to also note is the amount of knowledge available now for hardcore raiders is actually game changing. If you want to, you can watch hundreds of videos from every character angle, read hundreds of play by plays, and really learn an encounter before you get there. Yah, we had one or two guides back in the day, but it's nothing compared to what is available now. That changes the dynamic significantly and makes it a lot harder to fail.
